For companies who have already have an email list set up and are using WordPress for their company website or blog, these 5 free WordPress plugins are designed to help you exponentially your email newsletter subscriber list.
1. Hello Bar
Hello Bar adds a sticky bar at the top of your blog that lets you display a URL, email subscription field, or social media button. Popular blogs, such as Buffer use this plugin.
2. Scroll Triggered Box
Scroll Triggered Box allows you to display a call-to-action, such as a contact form, a blog post, social media buttons or an email sign up field, based on how far down a reader has scrolled down.
The benefit of showing a call-to-action only if a reader has scrolled down (i.e. reading the content) is that they are more likely to follow-through as they have shown interest in the content.
3. LeadIn
In addition to offering an email subscription pop-up that syncs with email newsletter providers such as MailChimp, LeadIn provides content analytics to show the page readers were on when they subscribed.
4. Fixed/Sticky Widget
The Stick Widget plugin allows a sidebar widget to always be in view, even when the reader has scrolled down. This plugin is particularly useful if your blog archive pages or blog posts are long. Any call-to-action or content can be used with this widget, including newsletter subscription forms.
5. Comment Box Newsletter Sign-Up
The Newsletter Sign-Up plugin adds a checkbox on your blog comment form allowing readers to select if they’d like to be subscribed to a newsletter when they leave a comment. The plugin syncs with newsletter providers such as MailChimp to automatically add the reader’s email address to your newsletter list.
As you add subscribers to your email newsletters through your website, or through other channels, remember to adhere to the new CASL Anti-Spam Legislation effective July 1, 2014.
